Replacing your side view mirror may be taxing but by following these steps, you should be able to replace your 2016-2021 Honda Civic Side Mirror.
These are the things that you'll need to do the replacement:
Philips Screwdriver
10 mm socket wrench
Flat head screwdriver or a panel clip removal tool
2016-2021 Honda Civic Side View Mirror
1. Open the car door.
2. Remove the interior door panel, you can use a flat head screwdriver but be extra careful not to damage your armrest or the panel itself.
3. Carefully unplug the wire harness to the side view mirror.
4. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the bolt in between the panel and the arm rest.
5. Remove the door panel starting from the bottom left corner if it’s the passenger side.
6. Remove the triangular shape piece from the inside to expose the bolts that hold the side view mirror.
7. Unscrew the three mounting bolts.
8. Using a panel clip removal tool, remove the clip that is holding the wirings just underneath the triangular shape removed earlier.
9. Unplug the side view mirror while holding on to it. Unplugging it at this stage helps make sure the side view mirror doesn’t fall off while the bolts are being unscrewed.
10. Time to install the new side view mirror, make sure that it only has one gasket.
11. Slide the mirror in, make sure that the gasket is in place.
12. From the inside, put the clip holding the wire back on and plug the mirror back in.
13. Screw the mounting bolts back in. (The ones unscrewed in step 7)
14. Before putting the door panel back in place, make sure the side view mirror is working.
15. Put the triangular panel back on. It is in place once you hear the click.
16. Time to put back the door panel, make sure to properly line it up and that the wire harness is in place.
17. Screw back the bolt removed in Step 4.
18. Plug the wire harness and put back the interior door panel.
