We're diving into the 2014-2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee front bumper removal process. If you’ve got a damaged front bumper or got a new pre-painted one from ReveMoto, here's a walk-through on each step so you can get it done like a pro. This is a super easy DIY, so grab your tools, and let’s get to it!
Flathead screwdriver
Drill or razor blade (for rivet removal)
10mm socket wrench
Work light (optional, but recommended)
Before working on the top or sides, starting with the bottom section is essential so the bumper remains secure as you progress.
Locate the clips – Crawl under the vehicle and look behind the bumper. You’ll find four clips in the middle and two on each side securing it in place.
Turn and remove each clip – These clips can be twisted off easily by hand or with a flathead screwdriver.
Drill or slice through the plastic rivets – There are two rivets on each side; if you don't have a drill, use a razor blade to carefully cut through them.
Remove the 10mm bolt – Located on the upper fender liner, use a socket wrench to take it off.
Repeat on the other side – Both wheel wells must be cleared before moving to the next step.
Gently pull the fender flare outward and check for hidden clips – Be careful not to damage it, as some models may have additional clips securing the flare.
Detach the flare only where it connects to the bumper – You don’t need to remove the entire fender flare.
Pop the hood and locate the push pins – These are found along the top of the grille.
Remove the two push pins using a flathead screwdriver. – Insert the screwdriver between the head and body of the push pin, twist to release.
Go behind the fender liner – Pull back the liner to access the fog light connector.
Locate the plug and press the tab – Twist and unplug it carefully.
Repeat on the other side – Both fog lights need to be disconnected before the bumper comes off.
Pull back from one side first – Gently but firmly pull the bumper out from the clips.
Move to the other side – Repeat the process to fully detach it.
Carefully place the bumper down – Flip it over for easy handling if necessary.
Organize fasteners and clips for installation – Identify and set aside any reusable fasteners and clips that will be transferred to the new bumper to streamline the installation process.
That’s a wrap, guys! You’ve got the front bumper off your 2014-2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
