If you're looking to remove the front bumper of your 2014-2020 Chevrolet Impala, follow this step-by-step guide. Whether you’re replacing a damaged bumper or making repairs, this process will help you get the job done efficiently.
Flathead screwdriver
T20 Torx bit
10mm socket with extension
7mm socket
Jack (optional, for better access)
Open the hood of your Chevrolet Impala to access the fasteners holding the bumper in place.
Locate the plastic push pins securing the radiator cover.
Use a flathead screwdriver to carefully pry them up and remove them.
Once the push pins are removed, lift off the radiator cover.
Locate the T20 Torx screws along the top of the bumper.
Remove all the T20 Torx screws securing the bumper to the vehicle frame.
Move to the side of the vehicle and locate the bolt behind the fender near the bumper edge.
Use a 10mm socket with an extension to access and remove the bolt, then repeat this process for the other side of the vehicle.
Turn the wheel to one side for better access to the fender liner bolts.
Identify the T20 Torx screws along the fender liner and remove them, then gently push the fender liner back.
Locate and remove the 7mm bolt securing the bumper behind the fender liner, then repeat for the other side of the vehicle.
If needed, jack up the vehicle for better access to the bottom of the bumper.
Underneath the front bumper, locate the 7mm bolts holding the bumper to the car.
Remove the bolts along the lower edge of the bumper, skipping every other bolt as you go.
Locate and remove the additional bolt securing the corner of the bumper near the wheel well.
Repeat steps 13-15 on the other side.
Remove the push pins in the center section of the bumper.
Once all bolts and clips are removed, gently pull the bumper from each side, unclip any remaining attachments, and carefully remove it.
Reminder: If your vehicle has fog lights, disconnect the fog light wiring harness before fully removing the bumper.
Congratulations! You have successfully removed the front bumper of your Chevrolet Impala.
